Jag vill veta vad de 17 000 miljarder eurona är för något, vem som är ansvarig, vad det betyder och varför det är 1 000 mdr euro i underskott. FYI: ECBs officiella balansräkning är på totalt 3 000 mdr euro.
Regarding the september ECB statement of financial accounts
On page 156 in the September statement (http://www.ecb.int/pub/pdf/mobu/mb201209en.pdf) from ECB, table 1, section S64, row 6, i.e. 2012 Q1, Total Assets are stated as 16.3 tn euro and Liabilities 17.3 tn. The net is a negative 1 tn euro. Nota bene, trillion, not billion.
Further to the right, headed Portfolio investment, Assets are 5tn and liabilities 7.8tn, so more or less a 3tn net negative position on portfolio investments.
Can you explain what this stuff is? Who owes who 17tn and who is responsible for the 1tn and 3tn net negative positions? Where are they accounted for? Is it the banking system, is it the national central banks, is it the ECB, is it national debt numbers aggregated…?
