SMS-lån, någon?

Wall Street Journal skriver om Greklands moralkris där landet, istället för att söka och straffa bedragarna (förra regeringen) som vilselett världen med falska BNP-, underskotts- och skuldsiffror, skyller på långivarna. Det påminner om SMS-lånedebatten där låneföretagen beskylls för allt ont som drabbar låntagarna.

Att det finns ett val betyder inte att man ska (måste) göra det.


WSJ om stämningen i Grekland:

...they blame the victims—the holders of Greek debt—for Greece's present predicament. The Greek media are filled with stories about the despicable "speculators," "profiteers," "bankers," "financiers," and "Shylocks" that are to blame for the economic mess the country is in.

...when one does hear an average Greek say, "We can blame only ourselves" for the crisis, what he usually means is that Greeks hurt themselves by revealing to the "foreigners" the true size of the fiscal deficit.

In other words, the problem is not the size of the deficit per se but the fact that the present government of Greece chose to tell the world about it.

Det låter som att greker är som folk är mest; skyller på annat och andra, blundar för verkligheten och bara kör på så länge det håller.
